Andrew Isaacs Family Law recognize that getting a divorce can be a very daunting and emotional period of time and as a result keeping in mind and knowing what to ask can be a hard task. Rest assured there are no right and wrong queries.

It is important to give us with as much data as feasible and never be worried to ask questions. Our staff will always make time for you and provide the support required. We can not give an exhaustive checklist of all questions to be asked as every case is different,having said that here are a few key queries to get you started off which can be asked at a first consultation:

Do I have to get Divorced?

No. Only you can decide if you want to get divorced but there are usually a range of options which we will describe to you at your 1st appointment. You may only know what you want to do when you have conversed to our team and listened to our advice.

 

Do I need an Attorney?

The short response is no. However,we highly encourage that you do instruct a lawyer.

The danger you take in not instructing a law firm is that without proper lawful advice you may not follow the correct divorce process which can develop delay and incur extra fees. Further and more substantially you may not get the best resolution you could and can not make informed choices.

How much will it amount to?

As will be repeatedly mentioned,every case is diverse so we can not tell you definitively what your divorce will be priced at.
We will however always give you a quote and be able to tell you the costs of the court fees. Court fees are known as disbursements and you should ask what other disbursements there could be and ask for an estimate of anticipated disbursements.

We want our customers to understand the expense of instructing us,so they don’t enter into something they may not be able to manage. We are here to aid and not cause extra stress. Knowing the estimated cost from the outset will allow you to budget appropriately.
